St Margarets Send your PA to Lunch Event
A fundraising event called 'Send your PA to Lunch' was held by St Margaret's Hospice on Friday 24 October 2008.
The charity invited 80 PAs from the most successful companies in Somerset.
Two lucky ladies were even given the prestige of arriving in style, one in a helicopter, landing on the lawn of the hotel, another, along with other attendees, arrived in a luxury chauffeur driven limousine.
The ladies were welcomed to The Mount Somerset Hotel with a glass of Champagne. Following a tour of the exhibition, in which Diverse Hampers were delighted to support, a luxury buffet lunch was served.
‘Dragons Den’ businesswoman, Deborah Meaden, who lives in Somerset, attended the event. She was pleased to support the event as it celebrated the role of PAs within the workplace and it also raised money for a cause she believed in. Deborah made sure she visited each exhibition stand which in addition to Diverse Hampers, contained stands exhibiting Wine, Chocolates, Cheese, local artists, Flowers and a local health spa.
Deborah Meaden commented "The hospice manage to make it as comfortable (as possible), if there can be laughter in the last moments of peoples' lives that is so important”.
St Margaret’s Hospice was set up in 1980 and helps people with illnesses ranging from cancer to motor neurone disease and chronic lung disease. It receives 19 per cent of its funding from the government, while the rest is made up through donations.
Diverse Hampers continue to support St Margaret’s and their invaluable work for people suffering from a terminal illness and their families who need the extra support the charity offers.
Please consider our Charity Hamper in aid of St Margaret’s this Christmas. A superb gift for a family member or special friend. Containing sweet treats, this has been a very popular gift and we have received many thank you notes from delighted recipients.
